Growing up in the Dallas, Texas area during the 1970s' through the very early 90s', Six Flags Over Texas always was a real treat to go to. Although the park has changed alot since I was a small child, the park is still one of my favorites.
Many thanks go out to Darryl for the use of his early 1970's postcards.

"NIGHTTIME EXCITEMENT"

"MALL OF THE SIX FLAGS"
Special landscape lighting turns SIX FLAGS Over Texas into another wonderland after dark, high-lighting the stately Corinthian colums and the flags of Spain, France, Great Britian, Confederacy, State of Texas, and USA.

"LOST KIDS? NOPE!"
There's never been alost child at SIX FLAGS Over Texas, but there are plenty of "lost parents." Youngsters can wait for their parents in the theme park's colorful Lost Parents Caboose.

"BANG-PRETEND YOU'RE DEAD"
The good guys win out over the bad guys several times a day on the excitement-filled streets of the Texas section at Six Flags Over Texas.

"CANNON AHEAD!"
A gusher of water shoots into the air as "Spanish cannon" fire on a boat making a trip on the LaSalle's Adventure ride at SIX FLAGS Over Texas. There's excitement everywhere in the family entertainment center.

"TEXAS EXCITEMENT"
Three of the most popular rides at SIX FLAGS Over Texas are shown in action. At the top is the Runaway Mine Train which annually carries more than 2 1/2 million riders. At the center is an authentic 1898 steam engine carries passengers over a narrow guage track which encircles the huge theme park. And, in the foreground is the SIX FLAGS Mini Mine Train, designed for the younger set.

"SPIRAL OF EXCITEMENT"
The Big Bend, traveling at speeds up to 55mph, provides thrills for thousands of visitors to SIX FLAGS Over Texas. The huge ride is one of the most popular at the theme park.
